Brockville General Hospital redevelopment moving ahead

The $172 million redevelopment expansion of the Brockville General Hospital is moving ahead. The redevelopment will see the Garden Street and Charles Street sites combined.  The completion date is expected to be the summer of 2020 and will see new beds, a new four-storey addition and renovations to the existing building.

Once the work is completed in two years, patients and their families will notice immediate improvement in care, as it will mean that medical staff and procedures will be at one site - better care can be provided as patients won't need to be transferred from one location to another.  The project also promises senior-friendly design principles.

As a first step, all buildings between Charles Street and the railway will be torn down and then new parking lots will be made between Charles Street and the tracks, making room for the new tower.
