BGH Launches New Website

Brockville General Hospital has launched a new website as part of "National AccessAbility Week."

National AccessAbility Week is meant to promote inclusion and accessibility in hospitals and the community. The website is designed to be accessible for all people with varying abilities and it works with all devices, including tablets and smartphones.
In a media statement, BGH president and chief executive officer Nick Vlacholias said this is "one small step" to including everyone.

"We strive to make our organization inclusive and accessible to all of our patients, visitors, staff, medical professionals and volunteers," Vlacholias said.

The statement added the hospital's accessibility committee meets regularly to review and assess its multi-year plan. Outlined initiatives of the plan include promoting accessibility training to all staff, identifying and addressing any physical barriers and
providing education sessions to staff.

"An inclusive BGH is one where all of our patients and staff can participate and have an equal opportunity to be successful," said Vlacholias.

The website can be found at www.brockvillegeneralhospital. ca.
