With some health service hours changing over the holidays emergency departments may
seem like the only option for people seeking medical attention. However, there are many
services available in the community during the holiday period for those who don't require
immediate medical attention. Please see below for a list of services and available hours.

NOTE: If you are in need of serious medical attention, call 911 or go to your
nearest emergency department.

Telehealth Ontario is a free confidential telephone service residents can call to
get health advice or general health information from a registered nurse. If a resident
is coming down with the flu, this may be a good option to get quick advice on how
to manage the illness.

Contact your local Urgent Care Centre, Community Clinic, Health Team and/or call you
doctor's office regarding availability during the holiday season.

SouthEast CCAC's Community Clinics (by referral only)

SouthEast CCAC's twelve community clinics offer quick and easy access to specialized
nursing services for patients who are mobile.

The clinics operate seven days a week, with extended evening hours, giving patients the
opportunity to schedule visits at a time that best suits them.

Our clinics are a great alternative to visiting an emergency department for treatments.
Specially trained nurses provide care in our clinics for people who need:
  • IV therapy
  • Wound Care
  • Injections
  • Post-surgical care

By referral appointments - these clinics are different than walk-in medical clinics. Visits
are made by referral, as part of your care plan, and by appointment only.

Your CCAC Care Coordinator will arrange your first visit. This will include a confirmation
of the date and time. Future appointments will be schedule through the CCAC clinic
coordinator.
