Service Description: Grief support programs and educational resources for adults learning to cope with grief to help the healing begin:
  • peer grief support groups facilitated by trained facilitator volunteers with the lived experience of a significant loss
  • educational outreach programs provided to the community
  • Special commemorative events

Weekly Peer Support Groups:
Support and Share Afternoons, for all types of losses, Thursdays from noon to 1:30 pm

Peer support group in an open and safe space * connection with others on their healing journey through grief * a trained grief facilitator leads the group of individuals with all types of losses

Monthly Peer Support Groups for specific losses:
  • Support and Share Nights every first Tuesday of the month from 7pm to 9 pm * guest speaker and peer support groups for loss of child, loss of spouse/partner, loss of parent, sibling, relative or friend, and loss by suicide

  • Wednesday Weekly Support and Share Grief Walks: Wednesdays from noon to 1:30 pm for a socially distant walk with others, along the Ottawa River and behind Parliament * Sign up begins at 11:50 am in the lobby of the Bronson Centre, 211 Bronson Avenue * volunteer facilitators on site to to greet participants

Closed Groups for specific losses:
Loss of child, spouse/partner, parent, sibling/friend/relative, loss by suicide * held twice a year in the spring and fall

These groups run weekly for 8 sessions with the same group of participants * Together with trained facilitators, they discuss different topics each week * the groups allow for a deeper exploration of grief

Remembrance Events:
  • Tree of Life Candlelight Event in December
  • Live Butterfly Release in spring
  • Walk to Remember in spring or fall

Fees: No fees * donations appreciated
