Service Description:
|
Family support workers and playgroups to support children 0-6 and their families
Family Support Program: Family Support Workers meet with parents to discuss parenting, child development and other matters of concern to the family * offers information, models skills, and facilitates referrals to specialized agencies * accompanies participants to appointments (e.g. medical, legal)
Parent and Children's Groups: informal drop-ins are held weekly for two hours a week * groups in Carleton Place, Perth and Smiths Falls * opportunity to develop friendships, share in group discussions and hear guest speakers * children have the opportunity to play with other children, learn new skills and have fun * snacks, fun outing, arts and crafts and play provided * transportation can be provided, if needed
