Service Description: To provide benefits and services to eligible Canadians who served their country during periods of armed conflict and peacekeeping and to honor their sacrifice and achievements in the defense of freedom.

Assessment and referral services - includes case manager assessments, occupational therapy assessments, physiotherapy assessments and vocational rehabilitation assessments under the New Veterans Charter.

Home support services -  such as housekeeping, groundskeeping, social transportation, ambulatory health care, personal care and nutritional services through the Veterans Independence Program.

Financial assistance for:
  •  special equipment, medical supplies, medications and other treatment benefits
  • long term care costs for eligible clients
  • attendance allowances are offered to help pay for attendant-type care for disability pensioners
  • medical transportation is covered for eligible clients
  • disability benefits for service related conditions or injuries

Application: Self referral or referral by family or agency is appropriate.
Waiting Period - Not generally, but there may be a slight waiting period if a home visit is required.
Eligibility / Target Population: Eligibility criteria depends on service, income or type of war-related disability. Each client's eligibility criteria will vary.
