Service Description:

Specialized social work services and interventions as an integral part of the interdisciplinary family-centered patient care approach:
- emergency department
- outpatient clinics
- inpatient services
- psychosocial assessment and counselling intervention to help patients and families effectively cope and adapt to the impact of trauma, illness and hospitalization
- advocacy on behalf of patients and families for necessary community resources

Referrals for individual, group and family counselling are received from members of the health care team or from families through a referral by a physician
