Service Description:

Adult inpatient and outpatient assessments and treatments for mentally ill persons who come into conflict with the law * assessments and treatments are conducted within the framework of the Criminal Code of Canada for mentally disordered accused and of the Mental Health Act of Ontario
Forensic outpatient clinic: Assessment and treatment of general forensic matters * referral by physician, courts or probation officers
Single-locked medium secure inpatient service: 16-bed unit providing acute care * assessment * treatment * community reintegration to adult mentally disordered offenders
Double-locked medium secure inpatient service: 12-bed unit providing acute care * assessment * treatment of adult mentally disordered accused * evaluation of individuals fitness to stand trial * evaluation of criminal responsibility * recommendations to the court
Family Court Clinic: provides assessment in two areas (adolescents who have been charged under the Youth Criminal Justice Act * child welfare matters under the Child and Family Services Act)
Sexual Behaviours Clinic: specialized evaluation * treatment * research related to sexual deviations and dysfunctions * referral by physician
Psychiatric consultation services: provided to the Department of Corrections of Ontario and to the Attorney General of Ontario * referrals are accepted from the courts, Crown attorneys, defense counsels, community agencies, federal and provincial parole and probation services, and medical practitioner services
