Service Description:

Child protection services developed in response to the needs of the community and the child welfare mandate * operates under the mandate of the Child and Family Services Act * includes:- investigations of the allegations of child abuse and neglect
- support to families
- out of home placement in approved adoptive * foster homes or group care programs

Call * no referral required
If a person has reasonable grounds to suspect that a child is or may be in need of protection, the person must promptly report the suspicion and the information upon which it is based to a Children's Aid Society
|

Eligibility / Target Population:
|
Open to children and youth aged birth-16 and their families for child protection services • children in care may access services through to age 21 years.Youth who are 16 and 17 years old are now eligible to receive protection services from Children's Aid Societies. While reporting for 16 and 17-year old youth is not mandatory, please contact us if you have concerns.
